Sex Mex is the alias of Clark Gray, a lanky and wiry dude who makes music, because it's the only thing you can do where being a dorky weirdo is acceptable. While currently residing in San Antonio, Clark was born in the Midwest, something he attributes his ingenuity and "no fucks given" attitude to. In concept, Sex Mex is punk music from a dystopian future, but as time goes on it becomes less of a concept and more "it is what it is." He is equal parts songwriter, musician, and audio engineer. He is also simultaneously hated by all three of those people. That's because Sex Mex is music for people, not nerds who play guitar...

The Luxurious Faux Furs are an enigmatic rock n roll trio based in New Orleans, Louisiana. 

They are beloved, mistrusted, idolized, ignored, puzzled over, and derided for their conceptual marriage of quasi-European glamour and droning, swampy rock n roll. The band [Jessica-Melain (drums), Lefty Parker (bass), and Josh Lee Hooker (guitar)] approaches their music with the howling, elemental minimalism of the Gories and Mississippi Fred McDowell. Yet they also embody the opulent absurdism of 70’s glam rock (a la T. Rex and Cockney Rebel), with stretched out songs, copious “ooh ooh” backup singing, and expressionistic vocals. The Luxurious Faux Furs are defiantly un-modern and anti-traditional; they’re neither urban nor rural; they have no interest in “what’s going on” and they certainly don’t care what people say about them.

BIPOLAROID: Spearheaded by singer/songwriter/guitarist Ben Glover, the group play delta psychedelic music influenced by Syd Barrett and the 13th Floor Elevators, delivering odes to dissociation, time machines, looking glasses, the fifth dimension, and the like on both space rockers and more fey orchestrated pop-psychedelia.Their latest LP, ‘Paint It, Blacker’, was released Oct 2019 on Get Hip Recordings.  

SAMVEGA: Upending common perceptions of psychedelic music, Samvega pushes forward from tradition to forge a sound uniquely their own. It is difficult to detail their power, beauty, and transcendent nature. An arsenal of underground influences, Samvega is a band that is best experienced live.  The hypnotic, hard hitting rhythms, surrounded by synthesized atmospheres and sub bass frequencies, crushing guitar, soaring swells and unsettling pulses all pulled together by the band’s powerful vocals. Samvega connects people to an uncharted musical realm that remains both tangible and familiar. 

LAYLA MUSSELWHITE is a New Orleans-based singer songwriter and slide guitarist who draws on a rich musical legacy via her father, blues legend Charlie Musselwhite. Charlie is Layla’s guitar teacher, instructing her in the deepest rhythms of the roots of the blues. Layla grew up on the road steeped in the music of the greatest artists of our time including Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, & John Lee Hooker.  While her original music spans blues, soul, folk, and country, the touchstone is always the same - a deep understanding and respect for the rhythms and melodies at the heart of the blues.
